Subject:
NECTO:
Election of New Board Members
Dear
New
England CTO Member,
You
Are The Best
As you probably know,
the New England Chapter of Caribbean Tourism Organization (NECTO) is usually
named as one of the top chapters in all of the
USA.
Our
intent and our challenge is to continue and to build upon our heritage of
excellence. To achieve this, we need the active participation of our richly
talented membership, especially to run committees and to provide leadership on
the Board of Directors…from which the executive officers are drawn. Board
Members will provide the club’s guidance with setting goals and leading the
programs.
You
Are Invited
You are a valued member
in good standing of NECTO. This letter extends the invitation for you to
be a candidate for the NECTO Board which will be elected at the general
session of the October 4th Meeting (at
Newton Marriott
@6:30pm).
To
be eligible to run for the Board, you will need to:
-
Confirm your interest to a member of the
Nominating Committee
-
Read and sign a copy of the Code of
Conduct (which we will forward based on interest)
-
Submit a brief written biography of your
travel background and credentials (use Microsoft Word and attach document to
email).
Although candidates are
allowed to be nominated from the floor during the October 4th
Meeting, advance-registered candidates benefit by having their names printed
on the ballots and their bios published for distribution at the meeting.
As
a Board Member, you would have some mandatory responsibilities. Continuity is
an essential contribution. Board members are expected to:
-
Attend all or the majority of regular
monthly member meetings (generally the 1st Monday of each month),
and cannot have two consecutive absences.
-
Attend the monthly Board Meetings (which
are generally the 3rd Monday of each month, but which have
flexibility to be scheduled to enable maximum attendance).
Please convey any questions and/or confirmation of your interest to run for
the Board by emailing any of the Nominating Committee members by August 13th.
NOTE: Because all candidates’ documents must be organized and sent by
September 1st to CTO National for their clearance, the bios must be
received by August 23rd via email or fax to Eileen Coogan of
Patriot Travel, Concord, MA (978-369-3300, fax: 978-3690620; email:
Eileen@PatriotTravel.com).
With
best regards,
THE
NOMINATING COMMITTEE
John McQueen,
Chairperson (McQAssoc@AOL.com)
